2 Mar 2010 – SMDI is officially a registered charity
SMDI has been registered as a charity under UK Law (no. 1134585). This reflects the drive, enthusiasm and professionalism of the students, its fellows, it works with. Find out more about the work the SMDI Fellows are doing with various partners around the world.
SMDI has today initiated an operation to involve university and high-school students from all around the world in discussion on development issues: Students for Development - a forum open to any student interested in the subject. The forum will not only be lead by SMDI - but by a collaboration of the leading student development organisations.
01 Feb 2010 – SMDI’s aims and achievements are in line
SMDI was founded in late 2008 to give highly motivated students the chance to do meaningful work in development during their studies – and provide development organisations with the research, project and hands-on support they base their operations on.
Since then SMDI has been developing a university course on social entrepreneurship that runs at the LSE, has published its research in various ways, has supported students to do on-field work and has therewith engaged hundreds of students.
